Egyptian software developers had expressed considerable interest in providing an outsource capability for European companies. A review of existing capabilities within the Egyptian industry was undertaken, followed by an assessment of UK and German requirements. A trade mission was then organised in which representatives from several UK and German software development companies visited Egypt.

The programme resulted in several agreements being developed.
