Moving significant quantities of cargo and ship supplies in a limited time-frame can be a logistical nightmare. Our client, an international defence contractor had a requirement for reduced manpower that meant an automated mechanical solution was the only option. Three-dimensional 'discrete event' analysis was able to help in both the development of a workable solution and also in the optimisation of the final design.

For Assystem, modelling in this way meant providing risk mitigation and for the customer, confidence in the overall operations before commitment was given to the procurement phase.
