IST Fair - October 2002

Between 1998 and 2002, the European Commission committed EUR 3600 million to research and development in information technologies - the IST Programme. The benefits of this investment, however, will only be properly realised if the results of the programme are disseminated as widely as possible.

INBIS and its German partner GOPA-Cartermill International have been appointed to develop and operate a new information service on the progress and results of the IST Programme.

The EUR 2.4 million project started in August and will run for an initial period of 18 months. The main objective of the project is to provide a unique and highly visible access point to a range of web-based services.

The majority of INBIS's tasks are involved in establishing a comprehensive database of IST projects and managing a progressive quality plan. Our contribution will result in:

  • Process for managing data on project progress and results
  • Maintenance of a data file of URLs of all IST project homepages
  • Establishment and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators related to the various project processes
  • Management of audits in assessing project performance

Consultants from Bristol, Preston and Luxembourg will be involved in this project.
