Rail Lifting Machine - October 2004

The Assystem Rail team has been developing a rail lifting machine for CTRL to be installed on a flat bed rail vehicle. The machine comprises two cranes operating in a master/slave configuration to lift and position 1.2 tonne, 20m long rail sections. Apart from the challenging requirements of the normal loading, the cranes have to operate at a 6.5 0 angle to meet rail standards.
