Inbis Develops its Strategy to Support Customers Internationally - April 2005
As a major Engineering Services supplier to the Aerospace, Automotive and Nuclear sectors, Inbis has during recent years recognised the requirement to develop its capabilities and International presence. Due to increases in project complexity, multi-country support and contract value, Inbis has looked to address these requirements whilst delivering enhanced levels of service both technically and in capacity terms.
Having considered these issues and potential strategies the preferred route for the development of Inbis is a merger with Assystem who themselves are a well-established European Engineering Services business with operations throughout Europe, Canada and China. Assystem have a business model that has a similar profile to Assystem with three key vertical markets of Aerospace, Automotive and Nuclear.
The combined organisation would become the major Engineering Services Supplier across Europe with a total turnover of some £400m and 7500 employees.
The strategy of the combined group is to create a multi-country business model that benefits from the combined depth of capability whilst retaining a national focus that responds to the unique requirements of each customer.
The acquisition of Inbis by Assystem is obviously structured to ensure ongoing compliance with all National Security requirements and retain all technical and quality approvals from the various regularity bodies and customers.
Major Customer Benefits:
- Access to a much wider range of skills
- The ability to manage larger projects
- International capability with centres in, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Morocco, Canada, Brazil and China.
- Continuity of business relationships: local business managed by local managers
- Strict respect of secrecy obligations will be fully observed
This is a very significant step towards establishing a business that is dedicated to meeting the global needs of its customers whilst continuing to deliver a high quality engineering capability locally, nationally and globally
