Assystem UK open two new offices - October/November 2006
An increasing demand for higher calibre engineers to support aerospace projects, plus access to established universities that focus on training in this sector were the deciding factors in the opening of the new Northern Ireland subsidiary with 51 engineers specialised in design, stress and tooling.
As to the Prestwick office, (near Glasgow) it was necessary, as Assystem UK Director Jeff Hoyle points out to "ensure that our relationship with Spirit Europe continued to develop across other aircraft products. The new office answers both the ongoing build requirements of the Spirit site in Scotland as well as strategic support on Boeing products". Prestwick currently boasts 15 engineers.
In addition to meeting immediate needs, both offices pave the way for future developments. The Prestwick office, besides continuing to grow our activities with Spirit Europe, aims at developing a new business stream supporting aircraft loads and balance. Both offices will also access the Naval sector to support the CVF in Belfast and the Scottish shipyards.
